Tomohisa Yamashita To Form New group The MONSTERS
Katori Shingo and Yamashita Tomohisa are forming a new group called THE MONSTERS and will produce the theme song for the upcoming drama series MONSTERS which will be aired in October.
TBS producer, Ishimaru Akihiko, commented about their decision of producing the song by themselves, “Their idea was totally unexpected. Without having read the script their song was perfectly suitable for the image we had in mind.I thought that this is exactly what a theme song should mean: I’m grateful that they’ve introduced me to this song”.
However, This is not the first group formed by Yamashita. During his career, he formed Shuji to Akira with KAT-TUN’s Kamenashi Kazuya and sang the theme song Seishun Amigo for Nobuta wo Produce.
MONSTER was included in SMAP’s GIFT of SMAP which was released in August. It will also be released as a single on November 14th, along with a different version of the song and a cover of Pink Lady’s Monster.
