For the past week, New York Fashion Week debuted a lot of new collections from new and seasoned designers. But little did we know, South Korean cosmetics brand, MISSHA, made its debut backstage on the models of Behnaz Sarafpour’s Spring/Summer 2013 Collection.
The September 7th show took place in the majestic ballroom of the Jane Hotel, which provided the perfect lighting to accentuate the romantic and ethereal looks of the collection as well as the makeup. As the first time the brand has participated in New York Fashion Week, it was a natural for the two brands to partner up, since they share a similar aesthetic. Behnaz Sarafpour says,
“I think we both have a very modern, and yet feminine sensibility that compliment one another.”
Legendary makeup artist, Val Garland, graced the models with a stunning look that consisted of muted beige tones, rosy cheeks and berry-stained lips. Garland and her team started with The Style Art Designing Pore Silky Boomer to create a matte base for the makeup. Then they applied Missha’s signature product, the M Perfect Cover BB Cream, which moisturized and provided the perfect coverage. Getting a bit creative, Garland used The Style Defining Blusher in Sandy Brown and Salmon Pink on the eyes as well as the cheeks.
She then stained the lips with the Limited Edition Lip Palettes from the F/W 2012 Collection. The finishing touches were complete with the Prism Bright-On Auto Powder, a mineral powder with a vibrating applicator to ensure the most precise and even coverage. Both the F/W 2012 Limited Edition Lip Palettes and the Prism Bright-On Auto Powder will be introduced to the U.S. market in October 2012.
The Missha brand stands with a strong belief that cosmetic products should be of the highest quality while maintaining affordability and value. For more information, you can visit www.misshaus.com or keep up with all their latest news via Twitter or Facebook.
With the visual success that Missha had at this season’s NYFW, I hope that it means we’ll be seeing it more often at future fashion weeks. Or even if a few other known Korean brands will be coming in to play as well.
