Chow Yun-Fat Agrees To Return To The Small Screen

Yet another big star returns to TVB!

It looks like we can look forward to some good dramas from Hong Kong next year!

After Andy Lau was confirmed to come back to TVB, another giant star also has intents to come back. After 26 years, Chow Yun-fat has agreed to initial arrangements to return to TVB to film dramas and, through the Hong Kong media, passed word to Eric Tsang, “Hurry and bring me a script!”

According to media reports, at the beginning of this month, Eric Tsang and Wang Jing personally met with Chow Yun-fat to discuss filming possibilities. The report stated that the Fa Ge who’s been developing in mainland China and in Hollywood has intentions to stay permanently in Hong Kong to film. He also promised Wang Jing to collaborate with Nicholas Tse on a police drama. Because of this, Wang Jing felt that Fa Ge would be willing to film movies produced in Hong Kong and it would not be a big problem to make a cameo in a TV series. Therefore, he and Eric Tsang gave Fa Ge the run down: No matter what kind of TV series, story, role, or female artist collaboration, it was all up to Fa Ge, as long as he agreed. And Fa Ge did indeed agree to return home to film TV series.

Last Thursday, the photography loving Fa Ge came to Tai Po, Hong Kong to take a few pictures but was chased by a reporter from Hong Kong Weekly. Despite having his picture secretly taken, Fa Ge did not get angry at all and personally answered the reporter about coming back to TVB saying, “I’m very interested. Tell them to quickly bring me a script.” As to whether or not he’ll ask for a high price, Fa Ge jokingly said he’ll have to ask his wife’s opinion, “This must be discussed with Mrs. Zhou to see what she thinks about the matter.”

In response to Fa Ge’s initial agreement to film, Eric Tsang humbly replied, “I’m actually just someone who asked. Before, asking Hua Zai was a good beginning. I think if I can touch one, I can touch a lot.” As to the question of money, Eric Tsang said, “Money’s not the important thing. We’re not going to talk about that first. We must bring our sincerity.” As to the head of a production company saying that they themselves were Fa Ge’s fan and thus very happy that Eric Tsang could bring their idol to film the drama, he said, “Actually Deanie Ip and Wang Jing’s series are about to start filming, and Hua Zai also agreed to film a series. Having many big stars willing to do these films is the audiences good luck.”

Tianlu listens to a lot of CPOP and would like to suggest that everyone go out there and discover who JJ Lin is.
