On the evening of September 17th, the 5th “Music Billboard Rookie Awards Ceremony” sponsored by Shandong TV and ENLIGHT Media took place in Beijing. Wilber Pan, Jiro Wang, Shang Wenjie, Hu Xia, Wanting Qu, Gloria Tang, Li Wei, Wu Yi, Liu Xin, Li Yugang, Mai Hong Mei, Vincent Chiao, and Miao Pu all attended the ceremony. Wilber Pan won the night’s most important “Role Model Singer of the Year” award, Jiro Wang was awarded “Most Popular Singer,” and Wanting Qu’s “You Exist In My Song” was award “Best Album.” Li Wei, Wu Yi, and Liu Xin received “Best Breakthrough Artist,” “Artist With Most Potential,” and “Best EP” awards respectively, and had the honor to jointly crown best rookie of the year. A Dream Like Journey–Walking with an Alpaca Down the Red Carpet

The theme for this years Music Billboard red carpet was fantasy. Singers Hu Xia, Wu Yi, and MCs Da Zuo, Liu Yan, in addition to dressing to the theme, also led alpacas to the red carpet, putting on an interesting show.

Hu Xia, who is busy with promotions for “Sad Fairytale,” appeared at the ceremony and interacted with fans. Liu Yan Leads Sexy Street Dance–Mao Ning and Julian Chen Refreshes Classics

The event this time was divided into fantasy, wild, and dazzling. Liu Yan, Da Zuo, Zhu Jing, and Fang Ling displayed their dance skills, opening the stage on this fantastic night. Liu Yan used themes from Alice in Wonderland, Cat Woman, and the Little Mermaid, transforming into a beautiful Alice, a sexy Cat Woman, and a seductive mermaid, offering a sexy dance for each theme. In the “Cat Woman” stage, Liu Yan wore a tight black lacy outfit with a low neckline, climbing out from specially made giant red high heels, and then dancing together with a male dancer in a transparent black outfit.

In this year’s ceremony, Korean idol group EXO-M and EXO-K appeared together for the first time in China, dazzlingly making their appearance with all 12 members, inciting screams from fans. The chaos at the scene caused staff members to interfere several times to maintain order. The group received “Most Popular Group of the Year” and “Best Style.” A VCR recording was broadcasted of EXO’s experience since debut and their fans’ passionate support, causing EXO-M members to shed tears.
