KARA’s Jiyoung, BEAST’s Doojoon, and MBLAQ’s Lee Joon have been cast in the upcoming drama IRIS 2, a sequel to the critically acclaimed 2009 series IRIS.
Jiyoung will be cast as Song Chae Ran, an honest & confident agent. Doojoon has been cast as Yoon Shi Hyuk, a slick and cool agent. Lee Joon will play Kim Ji Hun, a very talented hacker.
In addition to casting the 3 idols, veteran actors Baek Yoon Shik and Im Ha Ryong were also cast.
A representative stated,
“We’ve put in a lot of time and effort into casting IRIS 2 to live up to the success of IRIS with Lee Byung Hun and Kim Tae Hee as the leads. We’re expecting this production to exceed the success of its predecessor.”
The sequel will continue the story of the original series. Actors from the first series, including Jang Hyuk, Lee Da Hae and Daniel Henny are expected to make a return.
The series, which is being produced by Taewon Entertainment, is scheduled to begin airing at the start of 2013.
