The latest trend raising eyebrows in Japan among high schoolers are same sex “kissing friends.” The blurb, pictured above, sheds some light on the teenage girl-on-girl and boy-on-boy action:
When we meet in the hallway we smooch!
M.H., who’s in her second year of high school, says:
I have several kiss friends. The pace depends on the person (laughs). It’s a common way to say hi.
And as for the boys, first-year K.S. says:
At school we’re forbidden to get too friendly with girls, so we do it with each other instead. Guys feel nice and soft enough, it’s like ‘oooh, yeah.’
I guess he has a point there. What’s wrong with a little experimentation? Some people say a lot. Popular negatives range from:
Yuck yuck yuck yuck!!!! LOL. Guys kissing, noooo!!
The thought of seeing guys kissing or doing it myself is vom-inducing.
But people are more open to girl-on-girl,
Two guys kissing is not a pretty picture—it’s foul. But I don’t mind if it’s girls. Get into it girls!
I say if people are against this trend, they should be against girl-on-girl and boy-on-boy, not favoring one over the other. When it comes down to it, what makes one more acceptable over the other one? The whole lesbian fantasy is so sexist. Support both or be against both, no double standards!
